Every interior design project has a unique rhythm, especially when art is involved. In this modern apartment design in Lebanon, we balanced artistic expression with the functional interior design needs of a home. The challenge was to integrate bold design elements without overwhelming the space—while ensuring they aligned with the core concept of making art a natural part of the interior. This is how we do art-centric interior design projects—by creating a dialogue between architectural interior design features and spatial planning, tailoring every detail to enhance both function and artistic expression.

The Design Vision
This project centers on enhancing the natural strengths of the space while preserving its open spatial energy. Guided by the statement of design, “Enhancing Space Potency and Maintaining Open Spatial Energy—supported by the Style of Two Opposites that Attract,” the design balances minimalist interior design and bold artistic expression through:
Enhancing Space Potency – Highlighting the sloped ceiling and ocean view as defining spatial elements.
Maintaining Open Spatial Energy – Using fluid layouts and multifunctional furniture for adaptability.
A Style of Two Opposites – Fusing minimalist simplicity with bold artistic gestures to create contrast and depth.
This approach ensures that art is not just present but naturally embedded into the design.

A Closer Look at the Design Features
This project carefully integrates interior design elements that enhance both functionality and aesthetics:
Framing the View – The apartment layout and furniture placement are strategically arranged to frame the ocean view, using low-profile furniture and large windows to ensure an open, unobstructed perspective. Subtle curves and linear alignments guide the eye toward the scenery.
The Play of Materials – Mirrored panels and polished metals amplify natural light, creating reflections that visually extend the ocean’s depth into the space, making the room feel larger and more connected to the outside view. Meanwhile, raw textures and bold focal points—such as matte concrete, brushed gold accents, and brown leather—create a grounding contrast, preventing the design from feeling overly sleek.

The Play of Materials Layered Light & Patterns – The perforated ceiling design introduces a dynamic blend of light and shadow, with hidden lighting behind its patterned surface casting intricate details that enhance the room's ambiance. This layering not only increases complexity but also visually connects The Play of Materials and Structured Ocean Framing, reinforcing the apartment’s spatial rhythm.

Custom-designed perforated ceiling with integrated lighting, adding depth and dramatic play into the interior features.
Each detail is intentional, building an environment where interior design and art are inseparable. By carefully balancing open space, contrast, and layered details, the space becomes more than just a living area—it becomes an immersive interior experience.
The Narrative of Two Opposites
Building on the design vision and key interior features, we arrive at this narrative: "The Dialogue Between Two Sources of Energy." But what does this mean exactly? Here, we're talking about two powerful design forces—the natural potency of the space and two opposites that attract. Each of these has the ability to shape an interior space beautifully on its own. But imagine if they could spark a dialogue while maintaining control through open spatial planning—how powerful would that be?
The First Opposite: Minimalism as a Foundation
A neutral color palette, clean lines, and restrained material choices create an understated backdrop. This allows the spatial qualities—like the vast ocean view—to take center stage.

The Second Opposite: Art as an Energy Source
Bold focal points—whether through color, unique objects, or statement lighting—inject energy into the space. These elements aren’t just decorative; they act as intentional counterpoints to minimalist interior design, ensuring the design never feels static.
The Dialogue in Action
The ocean view is framed with simplicity, allowing it to take center stage. Elsewhere, lighting installations subtly mirror the movement of water, creating rippling effects that interact with minimalist design elements (such as small-textured bare walls) to enhance the play of light and shadow.
So these two sources of energy (the ocean’s potency and the contrast of art within minimalism) are talking to each other through the design. They don’t just coexist—they interact, enhancing and elevating one another. This strategy ensures the design remains dynamic yet controlled, allowing both elements to thrive without overpowering the space.
Layout Design Process
The interior layout design directs movement around a central centerpiece, ensuring a continuous spatial flow while maintaining openness. Circulation is carefully planned to enhance the interaction between functionality and spatial energy.
Key structural elements—windows, doors, and architectural features—shape the zoning strategy. Main and kids' bedrooms remain intuitive, while the open kitchen is positioned discreetly to keep the main living space visually open. Two leisure corners subtly frame the apartment layout, balancing openness and structure.
With circulation and zoning defined, the space is divided into two interior approaches—some areas highlight the view, keeping design elements minimal, while others embrace artistic expression without disrupting harmony. The central design feature unifies these contrasts, transforming spatial energy into a cohesive apartment interior design.

The main living area thrives on contrast and openness, while the bedrooms focus on functionality, integrating built-in storage within the sloped ceiling design. This balance between practicality and philosophy ensures the space remains dynamic yet intentional.
Conclusion: Art & Function in Interior Design
This is our version of how interior design can shape both space and experience, creating a modern apartment interior where art and function coexist seamlessly. By balancing bold design gestures with minimalism, framing natural elements like the ocean view, and using spatial flow to unify design contrasts, the project remains both expressive and adaptable. Every detail, from material choices to circulation planning, is tailored to this specific interior project and client needs, ensuring that art in interior design is not just present but an intrinsic part of how the space is lived in and experienced.
